FACES OF THE PANDEMIC

City lights and butterflies,
midnight drives and morning hikes,
get-togethers and parties planned,
all came down like sinking sand.

Dreams, plans, aspirations shattered,
everything felt like it never mattered,
locked away in one of those cages,
longed the whole of humanity for past ages.

People fighting for lives,
for theirs and for others too,
brought this world altogether,
the rich, the poor, you and me.

Families came closer and so did friends,
as the hustle and bustle of life came to an end.
Every sunrise and sunset found its admirer,
The beauty of nature so divine!

As hope still lingers over the horizon,
Life poses but a simple question,
Will we ever take for granted,
What we always did?
