The success mantra of Chandreyi Pathak our grade 10 topper is “To believe in oneself and not get discouraged in case of failure. Creating a plan and following it diligently will be critical to a successful outcome.” Read on for her inspiring success story:

1. Did you really expect to be among the toppers of the school?

I had consistently been performing well for the last couple of years and had aspired to top my school. I was always optimistic and it was indeed a pleasant surprise to find myself achieving my dream.

2. Did you have a fixed pattern of study? How did you prepare for the exam?

I followed a fixed schedule covering all subjects between 2-3 days. I planned in advance to estimate the time needed to comprehensively cover each subject and followed my plan diligently.

In addition to referring my class notes and following my teachers’ advice, I also solved question papers of prior years and referred to guides. Multiple revisions helped me in achieving the desired results.

3. Do solving old question papers help?

Yes, they certainly help in understanding the patterns, the time needed to answer the questions and help in the revision process.

4. What was your day like during the study holidays?

I kept my focus, followed my daily study schedule and ensured enough time was devoted to the subject in question. I did take requisite breaks to catch up with friends and relax in the afternoons, took adequate rests and ensured the stress levels were under control.

5. What was your coping mechanism during the exams? What was your stress-buster?

I regularly met my friends and involved myself in physical activities by playing badminton and cycling, to keep myself reinvigorated. I did not over think about the exams while following my planned schedule.

6. What was the highlight of your success?

To be able to realize that all the effort I put in yielded in the results I so desired, was indeed the highlight of my success.

7. And in the age of digital distractions, did you have to stay away from gadgets for the month,

I never overindulged in digital gadgets to get distracted. I did listen to music to relax, was mildly active on social forums with my friends, primarily to gain information and help each other prepare better.

8. How did CMRNPS help in your preparation for the Boards?

CMR NPS was instrumental in my success. The friendly atmosphere, support, and guidance of my teachers and the excellent advice provided by them helped me immensely. I cannot thank CMR’s management and faculty enough for encouraging me and enabling me to achieve the results.

9. How did it feel with the spotlight on you?

It was a pleasant surprise and a wonderful experience.

10. What are your best memories from College?

Every moment I spent in my school, is a treasured one. I have created lifelong friendships in this school and have received several thoughtful advice from my teachers. All the time I spent with my friends and all the interactions I had with my teachers are memories that I will cherish forever.
