Health is a state of physical, mental, and social well-being, not just the absence of disease or infirmity. Good health helps people live a full life. It is a dynamic process that keeps changing as we change our lifestyle, our eating habits, our thoughts, our sleeping routine, etc. Health and fitness are about the way you feel, your quality of life,  the focus you have at work, your ability to move, and your psychological state. When you’re truly healthy, you are in a better mood and can physically do more.

Being healthy means having a healthy brain, flexible movements of the body, more energy, happy moods, peace, patience, etc. Fitness does not only entail physical well-being, it is a combination of the physical and mental health of a person. When you start to view health and fitness as a lifestyle rather than a part-time hobby or a 30-day  challenge, you develop behaviours that will improve many areas of your life.

Regular exercise is one of the best things you can do for your health. It has many benefits, including improving your overall health and fitness and reducing your risk for many chronic diseases. There are many different types of exercise; it is important that you pick the right types for you. However, most people benefit from a combination of them like endurance (aerobic) activities, Strength (resistance) training, balance exercises, and flexibility exercises to stretch and condition your muscles, helping your body stay limber.

Regardless of your training goals, healthy eating is the backbone. Food is what fuels your body to reach your goals, and without proper nutrition through quality foods,  you’re likely to stall. Maintain a balanced diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, complex carbohydrates, complete proteins, and healthy fats.

Living a healthy lifestyle can inspire creativity and teach you discipline, adaptability,  and balance. This will not only leave you looking and feeling better, but you will show up as a better version of yourself.

When you choose to live a healthy lifestyle, you not only do yourself a favour, but you set an excellent example for all of those around you. Your friends, family, and children are impacted by the healthy choices you make and will often feel inspired to make a  change in their own lives. The result of this is better relationships, a lower risk of disease, and an overall healthier and happier world. By simply making healthier choices, you can have a rippling impact on all of those around you.

Be the person to start the change. You’ll thank yourself soon enough!
