Christmas is now celebrated by people around the world. It’s a time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have. People, and especially children, also eagerly await Christmas as it’s a time when one gives and receives presents!

It was a special assembly at the festival of Christmas that was celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal by Grade 1B students on 20 December 2021. It started with welcoming the teachers and students of other classes. The students presented interesting programs. This was followed by an insightful thought, news update, story, dance, a melodious Christmas song, and thought-provoking talk on the value of the month.

Students opened the assembly with a warm prayer. A short brief about the importance of Christmas was narrated to the students by the host. Continued with a thought for the day  “Learn as much as you can while you are young since life becomes too busy later”, motivating students to understand that we should always be ready to learn new things and explore. Students then came up with a story on the Birth of Jesus Christ. They explained why people considered Jesus as their king. And also they mentioned the importance of hope, faith, love, peace, and belief in everyone’s life. The ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ dance to which the students danced to perfection enthralled the audience with their rhythm and perfect coordination. Students sang the ‘Walking with the lord, we are walking in the Morning’ song with their melodious voice.

The celebration of Christmas and music has no boundaries, the children were filled with joy and excitement when they saw a dance performed by a set of students to the tune of Jingle Bells.

Students showcased the best Christmas activities to do for children and their family and friends or even enjoy solo. Like, ‘Write a letter to your loved one’, ‘Donate a toy’, ‘Watch family videos’, ‘Make best out of waste’, ‘Make best out of waste’, ‘Feed the birds’. The audience was attentive and watched carefully. Each and every child was able to recall the teachings of Jesus Christ and committed to making the world a better place to live in.

The class teacher, co-ordinator, and CCA co-ordinator complimented the performance of the students and urged them to be kind and share love and joy with each other.

The message of the assembly was loud and clear “Come let us embrace the spirit of Christmas by bringing joy and happiness into everyone’s life around us”.
