My name is Sai Pranay, here I am going to tell you about the importance of the National Sports day of India. Many people all over the country do not know about the significance of the National sports day. National sports day is on 29th August every year when we celebrate the victories of the Great sportsmen of India. This day was introduced by Prime minister Narendra Modi in 2012.

Dhyan Chand Singh “The wizard of Hockey” born on 29th August 1905 in Allahabad, he was known as the wizard of Hockey because of his excellent hockey skills which included his fabulous ball controlling skills. He won three Olympic medals in Hockey. Dhyan Chand Singh is known to be one of the best hockey players of all time. He had made India the number one Hockey team in the world during the 1930s. This is the reason India’s national sport is Hockey and his birthday is celebrated as the National sport’s day of India. The other renowned Indian sport’s players include Mary Kom, M.S Dhoni, Vishwanath Anand, Pillay, Leander Peas, Sachin Tendulkar, P.V Sindhu, and many more. You might be wondering why I am telling you all about this. I am telling you all this so that we can take this as an inspiration and not give up similar to these players and carry on with the work we are doing. Come celebrate with me on National Sports day.

My school’s(CMR NPS) Physical Education Teachers made a video for this day, which inspired me to write this blog. Our Physical education teachers work very hard and make virtual school’s P.E classes our forte, they teach types of exercises hoping to make us the future of Indian Sports, and tell about correct nutrition which makes all our body parts stay fit. Stay healthy Stay fit. Jai-hind.
