We’re back with another exciting Expert Talk!

Our students got the chance to meet Mr. Bharath Kishore, an award-winning filmmaker and choreographer. He has acted in two South Indian movies and played the lead role in one. He has won six awards till date including the prestigious Best Director Award in the Music Video category at the Dada Saheb Phalke film festival. He has also been a Radio Jockey with Radio Mirchi, Video Jockey on Z Networks – and here’s the most exciting part – he has also been an emcee for IPL! These tremendous achievements aside, he is a person full of enthusiasm and drive. In an engaging conversation with students of Grade 5 and 6, he told them about his life journey, his dreams, and his current projects.

Mr. Bharath developed a keen interest in movies from a very young age. If he was unable to watch a movie, he would often look at posters and imagine what the plot would be like. This practice gave birth to a very important skill that would, later on, help him in his lucrative film career – visualization. When he was studying in school, he was chosen along with his brother, after auditions, to play a part in a movie. The movie later went on to win a national award! That was just the beginning of his film journey. Being a Radio Jockey for radio channels proved to be the true turning point in his career. Passion for Performing Arts coupled with fanatical hard work brought Mr. Bharath to where he is today.

In an engaging interaction with the students, Mr. Bharath revealed that he knew many famous cricketers personally because of his involvement with the Indian Premier League. Not just cricketers, he also had a chance to meet film stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. That revelation got the audience gasping! Our little ones were filled with admiration for our expert, and they rushed to get his autograph!

To get a feel of what filmmaking is like, students organized themselves into groups of five. Each group designated five roles to each member – director, cameraman, production manager, and two actors. Mr. Bharath gave them valuable tips on various aspects of filmmaking, such as directing, choreographing and acting. Over the next few days, these groups will come up with plots and movies that we are looking forward to seeing. He was pleasantly surprised to see active responses flowing in from our enthralled audience! The most valuable piece of advice he had to offer was that acting does not require exceptional formal education or wealth. He advised students to learn from their surroundings and the people around them. This captivating talk concluded by students watching a dance video of Mr. Bharath, which was also choreographed by him.

All in all, it was a highly engaging Expert Talk which dazzled our young audience. This interaction with an accomplished personality has surely inspired budding actors, dancers, and singers.
