Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one’s entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water. Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley.

Another talented athlete emerges from CMR NPS. Jonah K of grade 8, won 3 medals in a swimming competition. The Speedo Invitational Swimming Championship under Karnataka Swimming Association held a plethora of races for students to compete in.

John won the following:

  1. 50 m Butterfly stroke – 3rd place. His recorded time is: 32.97 seconds
  2. 100 m Freestyle – 2nd place. His recorded time is: 00:01:06:14 minutes
  3. 50 m Freestyle – 3rd place. His recorded time: 29.95 seconds.

This event took place on the 11th of November 2019 at Global Swim Center, Sadashivanagar. It was an event for a whooping 8 and a half hours (8:30 am to 4:00 pm). In this strenuous time our little champion held his head high and gave it his best shot and succeeded!

We are extremely proud of Jonah on his accomplishments in this competition. We wish him the best for his future endeavours.

Signing off,
