The most awaited Senior School Annual Day finally arrived on the 10th of November 2019 . The students of Senior School of CMR NPS were proud to present “Saahas: The Story of Capeless Heroes” A play whose theme surrounded the many aspects of our fight for independence.

The play covered stories from the four kingdoms: Jhansi, Marathas, the Great Sepoy Mutiny of 1857, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the Partition of India and Pakistan, Kargil War, a mime of the gruesome terrorist attacks on our beautiful nation were some of the topics featured in this place. It also showcased themes such as the life of a soldier, his life in the platoon away from his family, the loss the families suffer, women in the army, and women empowerment.

We started off with an introduction to the play, followed by the lighting ceremony and the innovation dance. Ms Swati Soni, Head of CMR NPS, introduced the Chief Guests for the day. We had Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy, Dr. Trishtha Ramamurthy, Mr Jagannath Reddy and Mr Bhaskar Reddy in our presence that evening.

Before we move on to how our play finally turned out, let’s go back in time, to the month of August. Announcements were made about the senior school annual day and days were scheduled for casting the right people for the right roles. It felt as if we were filming a big blockbuster movie. It was truly heartwarming to see the field of our school buzzing with excitement, cheerfulness and anticipation. We got our parts, it was time to practice and rehearse. the month of October was filled with rehearsals.

We had dances going on separate rooms, bodies echoing throughout the corridors of the senior school building. Days of tireless practice by the students and endless support and patience from our teachers.

But did it all begin in October? No. the script was in the making for months. Corrections were made, parts were cut out, new ideas were filled, all in the quest of making the perfect script. The team behind the writing script came up with the most beautiful ideas for the play. The play couldn’t have been done any other way.

The teachers incharge were splendid. Not once did they ever question our potential of being stars. They helped us and groomed us into the characters and made sure we did our best.

The play also, included many beautiful dance routines. Every dance showcasing each scene. Every student part of the dance looked fabulous and magnificent on stage.

On the event day

Every student nervous and filled with anticipation as to how the play will turn, and how the audience will react to it. As the scenes went by, the audience gripped onto their chairs thinking what else we will bring on stage. A few of the parents came up to us and said that we brought them to tears, that’s how magnificent it okay turned out. Every detail of the play came out as we envisaged it.

This annual day wouldn’t have been possible without the copious amount of patiences, support, love and harmony between each student and teacher involved in this play.

Thank you to everyone who made this day special. This wouldn’t have been possible without our lovely audience.

This whole concept wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our HOS, Ms Swati Soni and our Co-ordinators.

Yet another event that fully showcased the true budding talents of CMR NPS.
