Field Trip to the 10K Nasscom Startup Warehouse

Earlier this month, our Grade XII students had the great opportunity of visiting the warehouse of 10,000 Start-Ups by NASSCOM. The day started off with Mr. Santhosh giving the students a brief introduction about the true meaning of ‘Entrepreneurship’ and also explained various tacks when it comes to being a good entrepreneur. He explained the difference between Proprietorship, Private and Public companies and also stressed on various laws one needs to keep in mind while starting their own business.

After a small break, Mr. Santhosh introduced us to ‘Jungroo Learning’, a startup project that enhances learning ability and improves the present educational system. The project was based on the simple ideology that one cannot determine how well a fish swims by asking the fish to climb a tree. The project emphasizes the strengthening of a child’s conceptual understanding. Thus, one can be assured that the child’s basic understanding of the topic is clear.

Later, Mr. Arvind shared his views on how being mischief at a young age helps in improving one’s creativity and having fun, especially at this present age, is important for one’s growth and imaginative thinking. His project is based on helping students study through oral, visual and episodic methods. As the brain is considered to be so episodic, educational topics are taught in a much efficient manner where the students tend to remember the concepts that they have learnt. He also told the students about how as young aspirants, students should focus more on what they want to work on and not about what they want to work for.

Then, Mr. Oliver Jones shared his experience about how he started his project and what inspired him to do so. As a game developer, he shared his views about how one can make a difference by developing a product keeping in mind that a change can be made on something so small as far as it is creative and out of the box. He told the students about how every product should be designed on the basis of the Universal Laws of Designing and that changes should be made before the advancement of the product and not after.

Lastly, the students were allowed to visit various departments like the IOT department which had prototypes and final products of different startup projects. The students interacted with the entrepreneurs who had showcased their products that were recently developed and are ready to be introduced to the users. Overall, it was a fun learning experience for the students of CMRNPS and they had a lot to take back with them as they left the premises.
