On the 21st of November , Ms. Sangeetha Jayadevan, a former employee of IBM, gave the students of middle school, a spectacular talk on the rising digital transformation of India. Ms. Sangeetha, started of with giving us the basic idea of IndiaStack, a project to create a unified platform to enable various governments, businesses and startups to utilise digital infrastructure to help solve various problems on the journey to make India digitally transformed. For better understanding about the importance of the digital transformation in India, Ms.Sangeetha explained the current economic situation of India. India despite being one united nation, the fact is that it has been divided into three sections  based on the financial backgrounds of its citizens. The three sections consist of India One , the part of the population who are financially stable and can easily afford all the basic commodities; India Two , the part of the population that can just afford basic commodities and have secondary sector occupations or service related jobs and the last part being India Three, the part of the population below the poverty line and barely able to afford basic commodities. She explains that IndiaStack mostly will benefit the part of the population under India Two and Three. IndiaStack has greatly helped India in its digital transformation starting of with the objective to issue Unique Identification Numbers (UID) called ‘Aadhar’ to each of the citizens of India. Aadhar is the first form of identification that is digital and can be easily linked and associated with other personal details, such as a person’s bank account for the purpose of easy and fast bank transactions online. The person’s details are all linked to the Aadhar number which consists of 12 digits . The next step that IndiaStack introduced was Unified Payments Interface or UPI which can be used during online payments or transactions to various websites and companies without disclosing any personal or bank details. UPI can be used in the form of an email address provided to you and all your bank details and other personal details are all linked to the UPI therefore increasing data safety and privacy and reducing risks of data theft etc. One of the more recent steps taken up for  the digital transformation of India is DigitalLocker ,also known as DigiLocker which is a platform for the digital issuance and verification of certificates. DigiLocker enables the easy issuing of certain information such as mark sheets, grade cards and can be directly issued to your account. After talking about all the digital transformations, it was explained as to how many people without access to proper  technology like the people a part of India Two and Three, can also be positively impacted by the rising digital infrastructure. For the prosperity of the population of India Two and Three they need to be able to start their own enterprises. In order to carry out these deeds they need to be funded or be given loans by the government, but there have been cases where some people haven’t been able to do so due to lack of proper credit score. Now, to solve this issue the government conducts background data checks and accordingly also gives credit score ,therefore enabling them to prosper in their respective fields. These steps and measures all taken to bring India to a whole new level economically have been widely successful and the talk was ended with Ms.Sangeetha explaining the importance of being a part of the transformation , leaving a strong message in the minds of the audience by doing so
