Become a character
Reading is essential in the life of children as it is essential for their success. CMRNPS celebrated its reading week from February 1st, 2022 to February 4th, 2022 for the first and second graders. Each day of the reading week, the school organised various activities which made the children happy and joyful.
On the fourth day of the reading week, the school organised a program where the students would have to dress like a character. As the children chose their costumes and characters, they were able to explore the behaviours and characteristics of those characters. The students were given a choice of appearing in different kinds of dresses and fashions as their favourite characters. They also got a chance to talk about their character. The students dressed in a unique way and their choices were diverse.
Prominent characters from stories and novels were JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and Hermione, Walt Disney’s Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit, Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio, Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm’s Red Riding Hood, Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, etc. Students were also dressed as their favourite superheroes such as Iron Man, Batman, Spiderman, Superman, Hulk, Wonder Woman, Black Widow, and Scarlet Witch. Leading movie characters like Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, Mirabel from Encanto, Queen Elsa from Frozen were also present. Students were dressed as mythical creatures like unicorns and fairies and dolls like Barbie.
The students dressed as their character shows how interested they are even in the small things they do. They all had a creative approach to their character and spoke two to three lines about it, showing their confidence. It was a fun-filled day and everyone including the teachers enjoyed this program. `
