It was Tuesday, 10th July 2018 and we were scheduled for an expert talk with Ms. Chitra Doraiswamy, ex-headmistress at CMR National Public School. Having been acquainted with Ms. Chitra since I was a five-year-old kid in LKG, I was really looking forward to her talk.
A person of genuine sensitivity and great knowledge, Ms. Chitra Doraiswamy addressed the ‘Importance of good communication skills in the youth’ and made us realise the wealth of language.
Interspersed with word games, the talk was an enthralling experience, taking us into the depth of how to communicate and converse when appearing for an interview. We were given priceless tips on personality projection and behaviour when in public.
A woman with exceptional wisdom, Ms. Chitra read the minds of XIth and XIIth graders with uncanny expertise and made us extremely comfortable in expressing our concerns and queries about situations we had faced or were expecting to face.
Emphasising on The Queen’s Language, she helped us improve our vocabulary by leaps and bounds in less than an hour. It was a learning experience beyond words.
Often said, “A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart,” and Chitra ma’am etched a memory in all our hearts that day.
