“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.” – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Once Pandit Nehru said that “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.”
We had an online children’s day celebration on Monday, November 15, 2021. Although it would have been another great experience to meet each student in person, the online celebration, which was conducted during the Morning Meeting helped us to engage with one another and share some smiles as we connected virtually. Far apart from each other yet as close as we can be for the time being 🙂
The children shared how they had celebrated this special day at home, with their parents buying them gifts, telling them how special they are, with friends meeting together virtually – to stay connected and not lose the friendship they built over the years and especially during the pandemic.
As teachers and educators, we love to see children enjoying every small moment virtually and that’s what motivates us and keeps us going. So teachers planned small, fun activities that got the children to laugh, share thoughts and kept the momentum of the class going in a positive way. A simple game of scavenger hunt, though played many times in different ways, was again a hit in one of the classes. The timer to each clue added more fun with children trying their best to make it the first to the screen.
And thus our online celebration came to an end, each student wishing each other and moving to the classes planned ahead for them on a calmer and peaceful note.
