“Self-love is an ocean, and your heart is a vessel. Make it full, and any excess will spill over into the lives of the people you hold dear. But you must come first.”
—Beau Taplin
In this fast-paced digitized world surrounded by gadgets more than people, the thought of ME time seldom crosses the mind. Also, keeping yourself at first might sound selfish to some. But it’s very much needed – For you to be you.
Here’s Why?
Take out ME Time to discover the real YOU.
When you decide to keep some time aside for yourself, you tell your mind – “I matter”, “I’m in love with me”, and “I’m a priority”. Your mind then accepts it and starts functioning differently – FOR YOU – minus the world.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed running the rat race in our day-to-day lives. Unplugging yourself for a few moments with that ME -time can charge up your batteries and put you at much ease and fill your inside. When the cup inside is filled with contentment and joy, you’re ready to spill it over others, making relationships better and more meaningful.
When you schedule your “ME-Time”, be consistent with it. You can stick to your plan, for the time you spend on yourself is not mean. It’s a magical reset button that prepares us for the unknown and unpredictable. It’s a charger for our mental and physical health.
ME time does not just mean that you spend time in a lonely room, but it’s the time you spend doing what you love. It can be alone or with a bunch of friends or family.
My ME Time ideas:
- I was sipping my cuppa tea in the evening alone on my balcony.
- Go for a walk and listen to my 90s Indie Pop Songs (Made in India – By Alisha Chinai – My all-time favourite)
- Pamper me with a foot spa or massage.
- In school – it’s walking during the lunch hour on the ground, chit-chatting with students, and watching them enjoy themselves (It takes me back to my school time!)
What’s your idea of ME-Time?
