‘The challenge of life, I have found, is to build a resume, that doesn’t simply tell a story about what you want to be, but it’s a story about who you want to be’.
Oprah Winfrey
A resume or a CV (Curriculum Vitae), is a powerful tool to cast an impression of one’s personality on the reader. It is especially important in this modern world to show your ability to write in a comprehensible manner so that recruiters and hiring managers understand your capabilities. Your resume often is a reflection of your self-confidence.
Keeping this in mind, CMR National Public School conducted a personalised insightful session on making Resumes on 7th December 2018 for the students of Grade IX to Grade XII. It was conducted by Mr. Ravichander, Director, CMR Life Skills Institute. Mr Ravichander brilliantly explained to us the main purpose of resume writing and gave us a compact set of basic guidelines that would enable us to write a professional and impressive resume. The session was made more interesting with many examples being quoted from his experience to stress on the importance of putting in our most important achievements and other necessary details in a neat and tidy manner to enable the reader, an employer, a manager or a selector, to generate a mental image of our complete 360 degrees personality. It was a very useful and enjoyable, interactive session.
